Crysis, also known as Laurence Barnes or "Prophet," is a major character in the Crysis video game series. He first appears in Crysis (2007), developed by Crytek.

In the original game, he is a member of the elite Raptor Team, a squad of U.S. Delta Force operators sent to investigate a mysterious archaeological find on the Lingshan Islands. He wears the Nanosuit 2.0, a highly advanced piece of combat armor that grants its user superhuman strength, speed, cloaking abilities, and enhanced armor protection.

As the series progresses, Barnes takes on the mantle of "Prophet" and becomes a central figure in the fight against the Ceph, an alien race threatening humanity. He plays a crucial role in the sequels, Crysis 2 and Crysis 3, constantly evolving and merging further with the Nanosuit's technology.
